DOkTM — Choose the Best

Advertising & Sponsored Content Policy

How sponsored and promotional content is identified, and the standards advertisers must meet.

Last updated: September 2026

Clearly labelled

Sponsored content is identified with labels like Sponsored, Advertisement, or Promoted.

No quality guarantee

Payment for placement does not guarantee clinical superiority or better outcomes.

Honest standards

Advertisers must not fabricate reviews, ratings, or make unsupported medical claims.

1. Purpose

This policy explains how DOkTM handles advertising and sponsored content, including how it is labelled, what it does not guarantee, and the conduct expected of advertisers. It applies to sponsored provider placements, DOkTM Picks, sponsored surgical inventory entries, and conference or educational promotions.

2. Clear identification

Sponsored or promotional content on DOkTM is clearly identified using labels such as “Sponsored”, “Advertisement”, or “Promoted”. Where a listing is promoted, the sponsored status is shown alongside the listing. Editorial and sponsored content are kept visually distinct so users can tell them apart.

DOkTM Picks that are sponsored include a sponsor disclosure. This disclosure and labelling is preserved across the platform.

3. What payment does not guarantee

Payment for placement or promotion does not guarantee, and must not be presented as implying, any of the following:

  • Clinical superiority over other providers
  • Higher medical quality
  • Better treatment outcomes
  • Higher patient ratings or more favourable reviews
  • Any medical endorsement by DOkTM

4. Advertiser responsibilities

Advertisers on DOkTM must not:

  • Fabricate, purchase, or solicit fake reviews or ratings
  • Manipulate pricing information or submit misleading prices
  • Make unsupported or exaggerated medical claims
  • Impersonate another provider, company, or person
  • Make misleading regulatory or certification claims
  • Make unsupported “best”, “No. 1”, or comparative superiority claims
  • Use content that infringes the intellectual property of others

Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit. DOkTM reviews campaigns before they are shown publicly, and may reject, pause, or remove any campaign that violates this policy.

5. Editorial independence

Editorial content (such as educational articles and DOkTM Picks that are not sponsored) is independent of advertising. Promotion does not influence clinical information shown on the platform. Organic search and comparison results are not altered to favour advertisers beyond clearly labelled sponsored placements.

6. Review and approval

All advertiser campaigns require admin approval before becoming publicly visible. Payment of the subscription or advertising fee does not automatically approve a campaign or grant public display. DOkTM reserves the right to decline or remove any advertisement at its discretion.

7. Sponsorship eligibility & qualification

Paid sponsored discovery is available only to healthcare providers that meet DOkTM's commercial eligibility requirements, which include being explicitly classified as a private provider, being active on the platform, and not being suspended. Eligibility is re-checked when a campaign is created, approved, and displayed. Government/public-sector and ownership-unclear providers are not eligible for paid placement.

8. Sponsored placements vs organic results

Organic search results are generated independently of advertising payments. Sponsored placements appear in a separate, clearly-labelled band and never modify the order of organic results. Payment cannot purchase organic ranking, and providers cannot pay to appear within organic results. Relevance and safety restrictions apply to sponsored placements — a campaign is only placed for searches relevant to its sponsored procedure or provider and location.

9. Review, rejection and pausing

DOkTM reviews every campaign before approval and may reject it or require changes. Approved campaigns may be paused or removed at any time — including if eligibility is lost, a policy is violated, or platform-wide commercial activity is paused. Commercial features, including live sponsored discovery, are enabled only when DOkTM activates them; until then, campaigns may be recorded in test mode and are not publicly displayed.

10. Reporting concerns

If you believe an advertisement on DOkTM is misleading or violates this policy, please report it through our Report Incorrect Information page or the Contact page.

These policies are provided for general informational purposes and should be reviewed and finalized by appropriate legal counsel before commercial launch. They are not legal advice.
