Today, I visited this clinic for treatment in the Gastroenterology Department and consulted Dr. Chandan Das. The ambience was good, and the behaviour of all the staff was polite and cooperative. The doctor advised me to undergo LFT, KFT, CBC, Lipid Profile and a Liver Scan. I asked whether I could get these tests done outside the clinic. The doctor said I could, but he preferred the tests done at his clinic because he had confidence in their reports. I completely understand that test charges can vary between different hospitals and laboratories, especially between government and private facilities. However, I had undergone the same/similar tests at another private clinic just a few days ago, and the total cost was below rs. 2,000. At this clinic, I was quoted around Rs 10,000 even after discount for the recommended tests. The difference in cost was therefore quite surprising to me. Overall, my experience with the doctor, staff behaviour and ambience was good. My only concern is the very high difference in diagnostic test charges. Regards Abdul Hussain

Very shameful act- Subject: Complaint Regarding Misbehavior by Ward Staff and Poor Patient Assistance Dear Management, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the treatment my mother and I received during our visit to your clinic today. My mother is suffering from arthritis and has significant difficulty walking. Since there is no lift facility in your clinic, I requested the assistance of your ward boys to help carry my mother, who was seated in a wheelchair, to the first floor for her X-ray examination. Before proceeding to make the payment, I specifically requested the staff to wait until I returned. However, the two ward boys ignored my request and took my mother upstairs without informing me or waiting for my presence. When I questioned why this was done in my absence, one of the ward boys, who was wearing a green T-shirt, behaved in a highly rude and unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing my concern respectfully, he told me to do the work myself and refused to cooperate. He also made inappropriate remarks, stating, "Don't speak English; we know English better than you." To make matters worse, after the X-ray was completed, the same staff members refused to assist in bringing my mother back to the ground floor. Given her medical condition, this lack of support was both distressing and unacceptable. I reported the matter to the reception desk immediately. However, I believe such behavior toward patients and their attendants reflects very poorly on the standards of care and professionalism expected from a healthcare institution. I request the management to thoroughly investigate this incident and take appropriate disciplinary action against the ward boy wearing the green T-shirt, as well as any other staff member involved. I would also appreciate being informed of the action taken in response to this complaint. Patients and their families visit healthcare facilities expecting compassion, assistance, and respect. The conduct displayed today was entirely inconsistent with those expectations. I sincerely hope this matter will receive your immediate attention and be resolved promptly. Kindly do not compel me to pursue further legal or regulatory action regarding this incident. I looking forward to your response. P.P Das (Women empowerment coach & social activist)
My 78-year-old father was recently treated for an inguinal hernia at Chikitsa Clinic, Guwahati by Dr. Chandan K. Das, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dr. Das is an accomplished and highly skilled surgeon who explained the diagnosis, surgical procedure, associated risks, and recovery process with remarkable patience and clarity. He took the time to answer all of my father’s questions, which really put him at ease before the surgery. The operation went smoothly and without any complications, thanks to Dr. Das’s expertise and steady hands. Post-surgery, he remained accessible—both in person and over the phone—to address any concerns and guide my father’s recovery. The Chikitsa Clinic itself is well-staffed, well-equipped, and offers all necessary medical testing facilities under one roof. I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Chandan K. Das for his care, professionalism, and compassion in helping my father recover so smoothly. I would highly recommend him and Chikitsa Clinic to anyone seeking surgical treatment or medical care in Guwahati.
A highly underrated yet undoubtedly one of the best clinics I have visited for my aunt’s medical needs. Dr. Chandan Kr. Das is a very kind and professional person, and the laboratory services are also outstanding. I would highly recommend everyone to visit this clinic.
